Electrical and civil engineering services
M2yi is an emerging consulting company with professional engineers experienced in substation design, calculation of steps and touch potential, the earthmats, calculation of the busbar faults, selection of cable sizes taking into consideration the derating factors and voltage drops and lightning protection and all other substation requirements. Further to that M2yi is can design and install public lighting in areas such as stadiums, parks and street-lighting.
The company is most suitable for corporates like Eskom, municipalities, Department of works and all other privately owned companies that would like to have electrical and civil services. Our professional engineers are experienced starting from the Low Voltage (LV) lines such as bar LV or Aerial Bungle Conductors (ABC), the techniques and theory of the MV/LV transformer installation including the earthing, the bonding and Basic Insulation Level (BIL) associated with the MV lines up to 33kV.
For Eskom and Municipalities networks, M2yi has got the capacity to investigate the network performance, plotting of all faults and go to site for further investigation, collect evidence leading to poor performance, installation of voltage measuring instruments as part of NRS048, analyse the data and present solutions to the client that will enhance plant performance.
Regardless of the voltage status (up to 132kV lines), M2yi has got the Professional Engineers that are experience in scoping for refurbishment and Strengthening Projects, this include line capacity upgrade, earthing including tower footing resistance, insulation upgrades to improve the creepage distance, installation of vibration dampers, arcing horns, corona rings etc.
M2yi also offers services for the design and installation of the renewable energy equipment. Further to that we are offering services for design, installation and commissioning of the revenue protection equipment such as Smart Meters, Split Metering including home automation.
Project management services
M2yi has got experienced competent incumbents for doing Project management including those with Project Management Professional (PMPs) credentials. M2yi is experienced in developing the scope, through all stakeholders’ engagement (both positive and negative stakeholders).
We ensure that all the requirements are collected to enable the scoping of the project:
- Estimating the resource requirements, such as human capital, lease agreements for material and equipment.
- Develop the resource management strategy including the resource levelling and optimisation,
- Developing the schedule using the Microsoft Project software and manage the schedule including the critical path and critical chain with understanding of the dependencies.
- Estimating the project costs either using the previous similar completed project and develop the three point estimate or using the parametric estimates based on the actual performance at that measuring point.
- M2yi is also experienced in budgeting including risk management budgets. This is progressively elaborated during the project execution and progress as part of the project monitoring and controlling the project. The Project Managers are trained about professional and cultural diversity and ready to work overseas and other African countries.
